Studded Styles of the Season

After doing an earlier blog post on Studs, I really wanted to

stick with the trend and see what was out there and going on with it.

I choose to do a visual lookbook of some of the hot styles and trends

in Studs for Fall. I came upon many celebrities like Beyonce and Wiz

wearting them, designers like Alexander McQueen and Prada utilizing

them, and also lots of street style photos of people and models

showcasing them. Studs went from pockets on denim, to heels of shoes,

to the knuckles on gloves and even on phone cases. I felt the lookbook

images,  portrayed a good array of items and designers we see each day

and expressed the significance of the style of studs this season!

Blog # 9 - Coach creating hype!

Just in time for the holiday season...

Coach, the luxury handbag company, has branched out and is becoming a lifestyle brand. Not only are they going back to some original ways and styles in leather handbags, Coach is also revamping in many other ways. The company has been incorporating new features to become more of a ‘lifestyle’ brand, some of which include sunglasses, small leather goods, scarves and hats, perfume, shoes and much more as time progresses. As we know, Coach has been around for a long time, but with this boost, the company is also bringing in their forces and getting the brand out there. This is being done with digital videos, ones found on YouTube and also commercials found on their website. One in particular, announced by WWD on November 16^th, is that Karmin will be joining a campaign with Coach in which they will produce an original video to promote the holiday collection. With those who are hyped to see the collection and those just simply fans of Karmin, this will be a step in a great direction for both of whom are in the fashion industry.

Coach also has used social media and networking to create a way for clients to stay in touch and come back for more. The use of Coach’s Facebook page has become a benefit to many customers. The ability to get many coupons, like 25% off your purchase every so often, has led many to utilize the page and get into the newest looks by Coach.

 

Blog # 8 - Lookbooks

Blog Post # 8 - H&M Lookbook

I loved this H&M lookbook for Fall 2012. It featured the women's

collection and did an amazing job with it. Displaying the new clothes and trends 

was clear and on point with the simple backdrop to set the focus on the models 

and their wardrobes. I felt H&M  also made their accessories and jewelry a huge 

focal point and zoomed in on them throughout the lookbook. I preferred this type 

of digital display of what they had to offer because it was calm and clean cut 

with the music and the background. It allowed their featured merchandise to be 

the focus and it made a fabulous presentation.

Blog Entry # 7 - Cotin Sposa 2012 Bridal Collection

I found this particular trunk show very eye-catching. Cotin Sposa's collection of 2012

Bridal Gowns was amazing. The detail on every dress was elaborate and this actual video was great at showing those details throughout. I found it compelling because it was not a clothing designer, or accessories designers, it was different because it was bridal. I had never seen this designer before and I am happy I saw this trunk show as my first trunk show and first preview at this designer because I really enjoyed it and got a great feel for it! Blog # 6 - Louis Vuitton Fashion Show - Spring/Summer 2013

I really enjoyed the Louis Vuitton Spring/Summer 2013 Fashion Show. It was extremely colorful and attention-grabbing. The uniqueness of the escalators being incorporated throughout the whole show was very appealing. I also like how they chose to incorporate the typical checker-box look of L.V but bring it to life with the use of yellow and white. The outfits and looks shown throughout the show stayed true to the Louis Vuitton theme, as you can see throughout the video fashion show and in some of the photos. It think it is important that L.V opened up the show using the technology of the escalators and still having each pair of models do the classic 'catwalk'. I also felt it was important that they stayed true to what they are and what they believe in, while still bringing to life their typical L.V icon.

Blog Post # 5 - Windows/In-store Display and Color Trend Research

As I went shopping, viewing all the windows and displays in-stores, I found some great mannequins and tables that displayed the perfect example for color trend research for this fall season. At a store near my neighborhood, I went to New York and Company. As you can see from the many images, each display and window depicted a different selection of colors and combinations that were trendy and stylish for business women. The outfits on the mannequins were paired with accessories such as belts and scarves that complemented the focal color in that display. You can see the different popular prints, neutral colors, and pop of color for each. I believe NY&Company's in-store displays and windows gave great insight into what they are offering and featuring as far as styles and colors for fall 2012.

Throughout the article I focused in on these key statements and words that effectively got through to the fashion market who read and research this information.

Prada's collection focuses on the 'flower power' applique in almost each piece and the clean

classic tailoring and fabric in every outfit featured.

Blog Entry # 3 - Skinny Belts.

#3 - Skinny Belts.

Walking the streets of NYC and almost anywhere around the country, BELTS have always been a necessity. Skinny belts, in particular can be worn so many different ways. High on the waist with dresses and skirts, or in the belt loops of pants. It spices up any outfit as an accessory just like one would use jewelry such as bangles for! Whether it is just black leather, a braided whiskey color or a bright, bold print, the trend has been and can be seen on the streets for all types of people in any budget!

#2 - Key Item/Hot Trends.

S.T.U.D.S.

Anything Studded. It's approaching us even this season, however I think judging from how the trend is emerging, I believe Studded clothing and accessories will be necessary     for all the upcoming seasons, including Fall 2013. WGSN trend forecasting site, major bloggers, including my favorite Dulce, all have included hot pieces introducing the new Studded Style. Studs have been in and out of fashion for decades and just like anything else, they are making a comeback!
